Tasnet Connect
Your router, ready for guests.
A desktop app that connects your router or hotspot controller to Tasnet. It checks the equipment, shows every change before it makes it, saves a backup and applies the rest by itself.
For macOS, Windows and Linux. Free with Tasnet Cloud.

How it works
Seven steps. You click through four.
Connect
Address, login and password. Connect uses a secure connection and shows the device fingerprint for you to check before signing in.
Check
It reads the router: version, interfaces, existing hotspots, what’s already in use.
Choose
Your zone ID, the guest interface, the RADIUS secret. NetFlow and HTTPS certificate are optional.
Review the plan
Every command it will run, before it runs. Nothing changes until you agree.
Backup
An encrypted backup is saved on the router before the first change.
Apply
Changes go one by one. On the first error it stops and tells you exactly where.
Report
A report of what was done, saved on your computer, with the checks to run next.
What it sets up
Exactly what Tasnet needs. Nothing else.
Everything it creates is marked as Tasnet’s. Running it again updates those objects instead of making copies, and it never touches settings that aren’t its own.
- Hotspot profile and server on the interface you pick
- RADIUS for sign-in and accounting
- Walled garden so the sign-in page opens before sign-in
- Sign-in page files, downloaded and checked
- Status and whitelist scripts that keep the router in sync
- NetFlow for traffic logs — if you turn it on
- HTTPS certificate for the sign-in page — if you add one
Careful by design
Built by people who’ve cut themselves off a router.
No silent shortcuts
A certificate or password problem stops the connection. Connect never quietly falls back to a less secure way in.
Won’t cut off your access
It refuses to put the hotspot on the interface you manage the router through.
Secrets stay in memory
Passwords and the RADIUS secret are never written to disk or to reports.
One job at a time
The window can’t be closed mid-change, and a stale plan is rejected if the router changed meanwhile.

macOS
.dmg · Apple silicon and Intel
The computer must reach the router over IP. IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, routing, firewall and the clock must already be set up on the router.
Questions about Connect
